Clarissa van Vreden is my name

(alias Alice Asisistry)

I am a creative artist residing near Deventer, the Netherlands. My work consists of elaborating on distant memories given my vivid past as I’ve journeyed ways from Hong Kong, Spain, Czech Republic, & USA back to my native roots here in the Netherlands. I take comfort in walks, playing the piano, writing, exploring musical genres, and the appreciation of time in continually creating fine art, wherever my mind takes me.

Clarissa is an aspiring writer, who went to school mainly in the United States. She’s been doing art inspiringly by herself since as long as she can remember. “I create art because I’m passionate about the humanities/aesthetics. Art is not my dream, in fact it’s the complete opposite… It’s how I live my life.” She make arts varying in clothing/textiles, and canvases/paper/ceramics as well. Clarissa plays piano and sings, as well as models. She says, “I see art everywhere it’s in our architecture, it’s in our design.”
Born 12/12/1990 Hong Kong City. Grew up in Spain, in Holland, in Prague and in the US. Changing places changing faces, changing schools. Dutch/Colombian heritage and proud to call herself an individual. “I see life, loving, as a rollercoaster. The ride is high when the tide is low and the wind refreshing when at a still.”

Studied at The Institute of Art, MA, USA, pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Business of Fashion.

Fashion and the trends always engaged my interests as I can explore the roots of how designer’s apply and create. Stemming from a single idea or concept, it has always been fascinating to witness final outcomes form in shape, material, and with use of layers in color. Taking on the same notion of breaking down a process in creating, I’ve learned that the arts has an infinite amount of room to explore and produce expressive content in the most obscure or harmonious ways. To seize this opportunity, and to allow myself to be free in the moment, I find the passion necessary to produce - whether it be in painting, writing, photography, or with piano and guitar.

THE ART

Everything I do that is creative involves striking with knowledge of artistry. I believe that it takes courage, strength, and wisdom to be able to get something to a finished liked product.

Clarissa says: “The way I draw has very much to do with quick rough sketches. It is because I don’t believe in mistakes. I don’t not love layering. With painting for instance anything can be painted over. I value color. Due to valuing color I can see a color I need and get right to starting a mix that will work. The process of painting/doing anything creative is beautiful to me.”

She usually sees the titles of the pieces after they're finished because otherwise she says “I'm stuck with the letters, ha-ha.” “In a World of creativity there is no fighting! The step-by-step; Doing is epic.” Epic is what she considers the creativity in the arts to be. She doesn’t believe in judgements, she believes in continuing up until she feel exhilarated.
